The Cathcart Constituency![]() James won the constituency from Labour's Charlie Gordon in the 2011 Holyrood election with a majority of 1592 (6.1%). Cathcart is one of the constituencies in Glasgow that the SNP won for the first time in the 2011 Holyrood Elections. Contained within the constituency are a number of city landmarks including Hampden Park, The Pollokshaws Burgh Hall, Pollock Park, Cathcart Old Parish Church, Carmunock Village, The Couper Institute and the Castlemilk Stables to name a very few. Areas covered by the constituency include;
Carnwadric, Kennishead, Hill Park, Mansewood, Auldhouse, Newlands, Pollokshaws, Shawlands, Merrylee, Battlefield, Mount Florida, Camphill, Cathcart, Simshill, King's Park, Croftfoot, Menock, Castlemilk and Carmunock. The constituency also houses three Glasgow City Council Wards - Langside, Linn and Newlands & Auldburn.
